I am hoping to make your choice of finding a Christmas Tree near you even easier this year - by getting all the information on one page, quickly and efficiently (and of course, plotted on an Explore613 map!) I apologize if any information is NOT accurate, I have discovered all this information online, so if any information is wrong, missing, outdated OR I am forgetting about a TREE FARM OR LOT that you love and they need a shoutout - please EMAIL me at wicked@explore613.ca -xo Jessi

Please remember, these are family run businesses,
politeness and understanding go a long way!!!

A few tips to know BEFORE you go:

  • If you planning on a weekday visit, please call before you go, to make sure they are open & running (or have the activities you want running)

  • Same goes for terrible weather - give them a call to make sure everything is open - when it is icy some operations have to shut down.

  • Some Tree Farms are DOG-friendly, I have noted any that state they are or are not, but please CALL about their policy before bringing any fur babies if it isn’t noted.

  • Most places close around Christmas Eve, some close even earlier, when they run out of trees available to cut for the year, again please CALL if you plan to go really close to Christmas.

  • If you have a saw, bring it - if the farm is busy, you may have to wait to borrow one! NO AXES. NO CHAINSAWS.

  • Bring something to protect the roof of your car if you wish to protect your roof from scratches - a blanket, drop cloth, or tarp works best!

  • On that note, bring rope or bungee cords to tie your tree down. It’s windy out there! Some farms have rope or twine - but best to bring your own.

  • Dress super warm, wear thick gloves (those trees are prickly!), bring the whole family, take pictures and remember - this is fun and you are creating memories!

  • If you love the Ottawav Christmas Tree Farm you visited, tag them in your photos if they have Facebook, TikTok, or Instagram. Check in to their location, and make sure to leave them a google review if you enjoyed your time. Every little bit helps, and you may inspire the next person to get a real tree from a real farm!

I received an update directly from The Render Family: This Christmas Tree Farm is no longer open to the public. Please choose another wonderful farm to get your beautiful Christmas tree this year! Thank you for your wonderful patronage!


This is not a sponsored post, just a mom who gets frustrated by googling things and not being able to find the information I need WHEN I need it. Especially because in my initial researching, I found a lot of information about the Christmas tree farms in bits and pieces just scattered between Facebook, websites, instagram, and other random media. Understandable, as most of these are family run, and either don’t have the resources or the know-how to keep their websites/social media updated! (I know of one who depends on the grandkids to make one post a year about opening day!) No one has paid to be on this list.
