613 Christmas Tree Farms Open in 2021

Hello 2021 readers! Our 2019 Christmas Tree Farm blog post was a hit for two years in a row, so here I am updating all the information for 2021

This post is not sponsored in any way by any one. Just a mom who gets frustrated by googling things and not being able to find the information I need WHEN I need it. Especially because in my initial researching, I found a lot of information about the tree farms in bits and pieces just scattered between Facebook, websites, instagram, and other random media. Understandable as most of these are family run, and either don’t have the resources or the know-how to keep their websites/social media updated! (I know of one who depends on the grandkids to make one post a year about opening day!)

I am hoping to make your choice easier this year - by getting all the information on one page, quickly and efficiently. I apologize if any information is NOT accurate, I am trying my best, and going only by the information I can find. Please send me an email if I need to update or add anything!

2021 - CHRISTMAS TREE FARMS IN OTTAWA (and surrounding area)

Please remember, these are family run businesses,
politeness and understanding go a long way!!!

A few tips to know BEFORE you go:

• If you are not heading out on a weekend, CALL before you go to make sure they are open & running

• Same goes for terrible weather - give them a call to make sure everything is open - when it is icy some operations have to shut down

• Some Tree Farms are DOG-friendly, please CALL about their policy before bringing any fur babies

• Most places close before Christmas Eve, some close when they run out of trees available to cut for the year, again please CALL if you plan to go really close to Christmas

• If you have a saw, bring it - if the farm is busy, you may have to wait to borrow one! NO AXES. NO CHAINSAWS.

• CASH used to be best - but due to COVID some farms are discouraging it - please check below on other methods of payment available.

• Bring something to protect the roof of your car if you wish to protect your roof from scratches - a blanket, drop cloth, or tarp works best!

• On that note, bring rope or bungee cords to tie your tree down. It’s windy out there! Some farms have rope - but best to bring your own.

• Dress super warm, wear thick gloves (those trees are prickly!), bring the whole family, take pictures and remember - this is fun and you are creating memories!

• If you love the Ottawa Tree Farm you visited, tag them in your photos if they have Facebook or Instagram, check in to their location, and make sure to leave them a review if you enjoyed your time. Every little bit helps, and you may inspire the next person to get a real tree from a real farm!

• LAST POINT: WE ARE STILL DEALING WITH COVID. Please BRING MASKS and wear them when possible. Please RESPECT each farm’s COVID policies upon arrival. Please remember to distance when you can, and wash/sanitize those hands! Most farms are not requiring COVID vaccination proof - as they are mainly outdoor retailers. Please just be respectful and kind to all the owners and their families. If in doubt, call or email ahead to ask any questions.
