Explore 613 is back, it’s year FOUR of our Spooky Halloween Map. This map is done in my free time, and is NOT sponsored in any way. So, thank you for sharing and participating - it makes my spooky black heart melt so much and makes it worth doing every single year.

NEW FOR 2023:
Each of these categories (along with Decorated Homes) will have their own symbol on the map… don’t worry though - if you ONLY want to see the Halloween Houses and NOTHING ELSE, just hit the Decorated Homes button at the top of the map and it will filter out everything else. (The little ghostie will turn into a checkmark if you have done this!)
SPOOKY EVENTS: Now adding local events to the map - if you have a cool event at your work, your charity, or your local library - let me know about it. We have a special category on the map for Spooky Events - I even added tags for family-friendly, 19+ only, free, fundraiser, or paid events. Submit a form, and if you need to send me more info - send me an email!
HAUNTED ATTRACTIONS: These will most likely be PAID events that are usually quite busy and well known - Saunder’s Farm / Fright Night, Pumpkins After Dark, Pumpkin Inferno etc etc
PUMPKIN PATCHES: Find a local pumpkin patch farm, or a market stall that sells pumpkins
COSTUMES / DECOR: Looking for a store where you can find some Halloween decor, costumes etc? This will include LOCAL stores & makers (email me what Haunted Items you are selling to get on the map!), but I will also include bigger stores like Party City & Spirit Halloween (this will NOT include Walmarts or Home Depots etc)
A NEW SUBMISSION FORM! - I am trying out Jotform over Google Forms this year, as they allow me to accept photos and videos without having multiple forms, or REQUIRING you to sign in (like Google does) - if you have ANY issues at all with the new form PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP so I can work out any bugs quickly. I appreciate it!
NEW FOR HAUNTING SEASON 2023: If you didn’t check out Explore613’s Holiday Lights Map in December 2022, you wouldn’t know I started using a new map editor! Proxi Maps have been absolutely amazing for customizing this map that keeps growing every year. It allows me to make it more user-friendly for both iOS and Android phones alike. This year - you can check off the displays you visit on Explore613’s map (so you don’t go twice), get directions to a haunt, and filter your spooky search by prices, fundraisers, level of scare, type of haunt etc…
EXTENSIVE TAGS: Every year I find more tags from your submissions to add to the list, so don’t be afraid to add new ones in your about section or email me with suggestions of tags you would like to see. Just a few Halloween Tag examples you will be able to add to your submission and/or narrow the Halloween Map down by this year, making Halloween as accessible as possible:

flashing lights
loud noises
sensory-friendly
allergy-friendly treats or toys
pet-friendly
accepting donations
child-friendly or sensory-friendly dedicated hours/days

Categories for Halloween Homes 2023 so far: (yes, I am always adding more each year!)
Walkthrough Yard / Garage / Haunted House / Maze - get out of the car and walk through a path of haunting..
Simple but Fun - (View Only!) - Just a cool haunted display to see from the car/street
Spooky Inflatables - lots of inflatables
Elaborate Haunted Display - whole street, entire yard / house, huge themed display, musical lights etc
Radio Light Show - Lights Synced with a dedicated radio station
Spooky Event (dances. / parties / one day or night only etc)
Drive-thru haunted attraction - (magic of lights etc - stay in your car and drive through a haunted path)

A Quick Note:
Please note: I love to see all the decorated homes added to the map not just elaborate ones - simple, cute and fun displays put just as many smiles on faces as huge elaborate yard and street displays (plus they are great for the little kiddos!). Sending in a photo with your submission makes it easy for people to decide if they want to make it part of their tour. I add every single house that is submitted, not just the “most decorated in the neighborhood” - that is why I have categories and tags. My family and I try to make it a point every year to see almost EVERY house that is submitted. If you need me to come by your house and take a photo or video for the map - reach out and I will be more happy to do so. Plus, I love to meet fellow haunters!
